What commitment really costs

A fixed-term contract and a four-figure setup fee mean you have paid for your choice in advance. If the system turns out to be wrong after three months, you pay to the end anyway.

For a large chain that is a manageable risk. For a single-site café it can be a year’s profit.

Three things to check in any offer

These do not only apply to us — check them with every vendor you ask for a quote.

• Contract length and notice period: is it fixed-term and how long is the notice period.
• Minimum billing: does the vendor bill a minimum amount if your sales volume stays low. This is often not in the price list but in the general terms.
• Hardware ownership: do you keep the card terminal or is it returned, and what happens if you change vendor.

How we do it

The agreement runs until further notice, there is no setup fee, there is no minimum billing, and the card terminal can be bought outright. The monthly fee is €9 per card terminal regardless of how much you sell.
